WHO Hub Speaker Series: Complexity of Pandemics N°4 – Working towards Data Preparedness
About the event:
The goal of our quarterly series is to highlight the complex multidisciplinary landscape of preventing, predicting, preparing for, and responding to epidemics and pandemics. In this fourth session, we seek to explore the concept of Data Preparedness: how can public health leaders attain real-time, high-quality data to detect future public health risks and provide intelligence for an effective response? How do they build their institutions and workforce and develop technologies to achieve this? The session will include welcoming remarks from WHO Assistant Director-General Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, who leads the WHO Pandemic Hub. The centrepiece of our event will be the contributions of three speakers, including global thought leaders and representatives of national public health institutes. The event will be moderated by Sara Hersey, Director for Collaborative Intelligence at the WHO Pandemic Hub. The speakers will be announced within the coming weeks.
