2025 is a crucial year for NCD policy—and the NCD Hub Community is at the forefront! Our roadmap paves the way to the UN declaration: gathering diverse perspectives, shaping a policy paper, and engaging with policymakers. Join us and make your voice count!
2025 will be an important year for the global NCD community. In September, the UN will host its 4th High-Level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), where the world is set to adopt a new political declaration to guide NCD efforts toward 2050. In addition, this year marks the deadline for the WHO’s “25 by 25” target, which aimed to reducing NCDs by 25% by 2025. Thus, this year marks a time of reflection, action and renewed commitment to addressing NCDs globally. And, the voice of non-state actors in the field of NCDs is more important than ever!
At the Global Health Hub Germany, we are committed to closely follow the preparatory process for the 4th High-level Meeting of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on the prevention and control of NCDs.
Our Hub Community on NCDs will take the lead, collect and consolidate voices from all different backgrounds and develop a high-level policy paper! Community members will have the opportunity to shape global policy by contributing to the Zero Draft of the UNGA-declaration on the prevention and control of NCDs. The process will culminate in an exclusive parliamentary evening, where the policy paper can be discussed with German policymakers.
