Steering Committee Election of the Global Health Hub Germany: Stand as a Candidate now!
It's time for the upcoming election of the new Steering Committee of the Global Health Hub Germany for 2024 – 2026! For the third time since its establishment in 2019, members of the Global Health Hub Germany can now vote for representatives of their stakeholder groups.
The Steering Committee is responsible for strategic planning, future development and content-related coordination. It is elected by the members of the Hub and ensures equal gender representation by having two representatives from each of the eight stakeholder groups: International Organizations, Youth, Political Sphere, Foundations, Think Tanks, the Private Sector, Academia, and Civil Society.
Over the next two weeks, you will have the opportunity to elect the Steering Committee for the Global Health Hub Germany for the years 2024-26.
The new steering committee will officially begin its duties on Monday, 1 July 2024.
Step 1: Nomination Phase: Deadline extended to 24 May
Are you part of one of the 8 stakeholder groups listed above? Then consider becoming a candidate for this year's steering committee election or nominate a candidate from your stakeholder group. Membership in the Global Health Hub Germany is required. Starting from Tuesday, 30 April 2024, send us the name and stakeholder group of your proposed candidate (info@globalhealthhub.de) or in case you nominate yourself please submit the following letter of candidacy with three questions about yourself and your candidacy (max. 100 words per answer) and a portrait photo to the Hub Management Team (info@globalhealthhub.de) by May 24, 2024.

Both your photo and your letter of candidacy will be published on the Hub website. This allows Hub members to get to know the candidates for the 2024-26 Steering Committee election better.
Note: The working language of the Steering Committee is German.
Step 2: Election process from 3 June to 16 June 2024:
You can vote for the new representatives of your stakeholder group over a period of two weeks from 3 to 16 June 2024.
All members of the 8 stakeholder groups are eligible to vote*. Each member has the opportunity to allocate up to two votes within their own stakeholder group. The female candidate and the male candidate with the most votes per stakeholder group will be elected to the steering committee.

Tasks of the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee meets three times a year for official meetings on current developments, prioritization, work planning, and thematic issues.
The specific tasks of the Steering Committee include the following activities (time commitment per month: approximately two hours plus meetings):
- Regular meetings
- Active contribution with expertise on developments and trends in global health
- Strategic coordination and decision-making
- Support the work of our Hub Communities (for example, co-management of a Hub Community or moderation of discussions on the Collaboration Space)
- Presenting and promoting the Hub at relevant external events and committees, as well as moderation and participation in Hub events (outreach)
- Connecting the Hub with relevant members/ partner organizations
- Providing support to the Hub office based on your expertise and interests
- Utilize your network to connect the Hub with relevant organizations
